Sugar Cane Squalane (Ecocert) is a valuable oily substance, a derivative of squalene, found in human skin and hair. Squalene is a component of human sebum (12-13%) and is found in the intercellular space. It acts as an emollient and moisturizer in the skin. As we age, squalene production decreases, and the skin becomes dehydrated, hypersensitive, and sagging. To rebuild its natural levels and maintain a youthful appearance, we must apply it externally. Because squalene is an unstable substance, fermentation produces squalane with a similar structure to squalene, but is stable and biocompatible with human skin. Recommended for: dry, sensitive, combination, and acne-prone skin, as a body oil, for hair and nail regeneration, and for eye makeup removal. Effects: Moisturizes – squalane supplies lipids responsible for maintaining the liquid, hydrated structure of the intercellular binder. Well-hydrated skin is soft, elastic, smooth, and more resistant to dry air. Regenerates – squalane supplies “healthy” fatty substances to the epidermis, which easily mix with the skin’s natural lipid layer. This replenishes the deficiencies and replaces lipids damaged by free radicals with new ones. The comprehensive regenerative effect improves skin density and makes it firmer. Protects - squalane also acts as an antioxidant, protecting the epidermis' own lipids from free radicals and UV rays, and preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi. Application: 5-100%. (In dermatological tests on volunteers, 100% Nago sugarcane squalane showed no irritating or sensitizing properties). Properties: Squalane has a light, transparent consistency, is odorless, and has excellent sensory properties. It spreads perfectly on the surface of the skin and hair, absorbs well, and increases transepidermal transport of active ingredients. This makes squalane a luxurious cosmetic ingredient. It is often used in Japanese cosmetics.
