Shea butter (karité butter) is an oil extracted from the seeds of the African Masłosz Parka tree. It has the form of a hard butter with a white-beige shade. After warming in your hands, it takes on the consistency of a liquid and fatty oil. Shea butter leaves a delicate occlusive layer on the skin, protecting the epidermis. Thanks to its cinnamic acid and cycloartenol content, shea butter acts as a natural filter that protects against UV rays and has anti-aging properties (slows down the skin aging process). Shea butter has a distinctive nutty scent.
