Beer Soap, 110g
Did you know that Cztery Szpaki began with beer? The Szpak founders, Tomek and Dusia, have always had craft interests – they sewed clothes, made bread, and… brewed beer. While reading American brewing blogs, Tomek came across information that beer could be used to make soap. This intrigued him and he immediately created one. The production process proved captivating, and the resulting fragrant bars were satisfying both for the creator and all their users. The positive response to the natural cosmetics they created with his wife, inspired by, among other things, the Scandinavian approach to skincare, and the growing demand for organic products meant that their hobby quickly turned into a great business idea. Beer Soap is therefore a nod to our beginnings. It's also a nod to Podlasie, as we invited our friendly brewery, Browar Waszczukowe, to collaborate on the bar's creation. The brewers of Waszczukowe, which sows ferment (literally) in the heart of the Knyszyńska Forest—Czarna Białostocka—are neighbors of Szpaczki, both geographically and ideologically. We share the same appreciation for fine craftsmanship and a commitment to localness, even sharing the title of Podlasie Brand. Browar Waszczukowe provided us with the wort and hops for the Grażyna Sprężyna toffee stout, and we used the ingredients to make the soap. The Beer Soap, like other Szpak bars, is made with the highest quality vegetable oils, such as shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil, and olive oil. This creates a thick, creamy lather that perfectly cleanses and nourishes the skin. The wort added to the caustic soda (the "beer base," which contains no alcohol or CO2 and tastes similar to kvass) gives the soap its characteristic dark color and sweet, distinctive scent. This scent is further enhanced by a rich blend of essential oils: patchouli, vanilla, bergamot, and grapefruit. Beer Soap is perfect for both hand and body care. It also makes a wonderful gift for all lovers of good artisanal soap and good craft beer. Weight: 110 g. Bar dimensions: Approx. 8 x 5 x 3 cm.
