Pressing the button after applying the cuff causes the device to measure blood pressure and heart rate and display the results on the digital display. The blood pressure monitor also has a cardiac arrhythmia detection function (IHB).
If you want to use the blood pressure monitor without batteries, simply connect it to an AC adapter (a standard phone charger will suffice) with a micro USB connector.
