The fetal heart rate (FHR) is extremely important and forms the basis for checking whether the fetus is healthy.
Recording changes in the FHR helps detect signs of fetal hypoxia. Fetal monitoring at home mainly involves listening to the fetal heartbeat and checking for changes in the FHR, which help significantly increase fetal safety. Reference fetal heart rate range: 110bpm-160bpm.
The fetus moves in the pregnant woman's abdomen, and therefore the position for detecting the fetal heartbeat may change.
Depending on the stage of pregnancy, the heartbeat can be felt in different places on the abdomen. You should patiently and calmly determine the baby's position in the abdomen. It is normal for the baby's heart rate to vary - the fetus will respond to changes in your position, e.g., from sitting to lying down. Activity can also be triggered by the mother's strong emotions, sounds that reach the baby, and food (e.g., sweets).
