Instructions for burning a soy candle: 1. Before lighting the candle, check the length of the wick. Its optimal length is approximately 0.5 cm. If the wick is longer, shorten it to avoid a smoky, jumping flame. Use a trimmer or regular office scissors. 2. Soy candles, unlike paraffin candles, tend to tunnel, meaning the wax burns unevenly. To avoid this, when the candle is burning, do not extinguish it until the wax has melted all the way to the edges of the container. 3. Cotton wicks used in candle making are 100% natural, and therefore sensitive to over-burning. A large amount of melted wax makes the wick longer and heavier, which can cause it to tilt or smoke slightly. In such cases, it is best to extinguish the candle, wait for the wax to harden, shorten the wick, and relight it. To prevent the wick from sinking, it is best to burn the candle for no longer than 2-3 hours at a time. 4. Candles do not like to be left alone, so do not leave them unattended. Extinguish them with a wooden lid or extinguisher.
