Lactobionic acid is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) – a new generation of hydroxy acid that retains the properties of AHAs, but with significantly milder action and antioxidant properties. It is obtained by the oxidation of lactose. This makes it suitable for use in the care of problematic skin. It works best as a peel for dry, sensitive, vascular, and acne-prone skin. It effectively helps reduce the tendency to break capillaries. It also supports the production of collagen and elastin, and is responsible for strengthening the skin's repair mechanisms. Like any hydroxy acid, it brilliantly brightens, smooths, and evens out skin tone.

Properties: Transparent, clear liquid, does not dissolve in oils. It has a gel consistency. Furthermore, it provides convenient application as an acid peel. 8% lactobionic acid has a pH between 3 and 4. Therefore, there is no need to use neutralizers.
