ECOCERT CERTIFICATE
ECOCERT is one of the most well-known and, at the same time, the most demanding certifications that can be awarded to natural cosmetics. It guarantees that a product contains at least 95% ingredients of natural origin. In addition, it prohibits the use of raw materials derived from genetically modified plants and animals (GMOs), a ban on animal testing, and a renunciation of synthetic fragrances and dyes, silicones, PEG, paraffin, and other substances obtained during the distillation of crude oil.
COSMOS STANDARD
The COSMOS (Cosmetics Organic Standard) certificate is a response to the need to standardize the certification system and assessment method for natural and organic cosmetics. It distinguishes two categories of cosmetics:
• Natural (COMOS NATURAL contains more than 95% natural ingredients)
• Organic (COSMOS ORGANIC contains at least 20% of ingredients from organic farming)
The most important aspect of the COSMOS standard is the absolute ban on using ingredients, technologies, and processes in the production process that may in any way negatively impact human health and the natural environment.
