This is due to components such as numerous minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, and potassium), quercetin, carnasol, coenzyme Q10, alkaloids, hydrobenzoic acids, and steroid saponins. Lapacho reduces stomach acid secretion and increases mucus secretion, thus alleviating the symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. Laboratory studies have also shown that lapacho fights the Helicobacter pylori bacterium, which causes stomach ulcers.
