BORELIOL with Andrographis | 90 capsules

BORELIOL contains the 3 most important herbs selected based on scientific research, which have anti-Lyme activity and can be used to support the treatment of Borrelia infections.

Japanese knotweed root is a very potent inhibitor of cytokine cascades initiated by bacteria and causing severe inflammation. For example, during Lyme disease infection, spirochete-stimulated release of many matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) occurs, which occurs through a specific group of signaling pathways. While there are many herbs that can reduce autoinflammation stimulated by MMP-1 and MMP-3 (for example, curcumin), the only herb that specifically blocks the induction of MMP-1 and MMP-3 through three specific signaling pathways is Japanese knotweed root. Knotweed root improves blood flow, particularly in the eyes, heart, skin, and joints. This makes it particularly useful for Lyme disease and associated co-infections, as it facilitates blood flow to hard-to-reach areas like the brain to kill bacteria. Compounds from this plant readily cross the gastrointestinal mucosa and circulate in the bloodstream. Cat's claw is known for its immune-supporting and inflammation-reducing effects. In vitro studies indicate that cat's claw may stimulate the immune system, relax smooth muscle (including the intestines), dilate blood vessels, and have a diuretic effect. Promising research shows that cat's claw can be an effective addition to Lyme disease treatment protocols. Cat's claw extract has been shown to reduce both spirochetes and the rounded form of the organism—Borrelia burgdorferi—in vitro, as well as disrupt and reduce the size of biofilm. A study of 28 patients with advanced Lyme disease showed that cat's claw can be a powerful intervention in this disease. Andrographis paniculata is the most potent and widely used agent, and its use as an antimicrobial agent for Lyme disease may have first been used on a large scale in people with Lyme disease when master herbalist Stephen Harrod Buhner described it in his 2005 book Healing Lyme. Renowned herbalist Teven Buhner states that it is the best primary herb for use in Lyme disease. In addition to its anti-spirochetal properties, andrographis also has antiparasitic properties, boosts immune function, protects the heart, is anti-inflammatory, and crosses the blood-brain barrier, allowing it to access pathogens in the brain. It also improves liver function, which may allow the liver to better remove toxins associated with Lyme disease. Furthermore, an August 2017 article in Frontiers in Pharmacology revealed that it may have beneficial effects on various components of metabolic syndrome, including fluctuating blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, and obesity. These are just a few of its properties and uses. According to Steven Buhner in Healing Lyme, clinical trials and studies have shown that andrographis is effective against a wide range of parasitic organisms, including Plasmodium species (malaria), Leishmaniasis (leshmaniasis), filariasis, roundworms, and leptospirosis. Many people with Lyme disease also have some of these infections, so when treating Lyme disease, you may also be treating one or more types of parasites in the body.

According to Steven Harrod Buhner in Healing Lyme, in Lyme disease, the herb meets all of the following criteria:

1) It works against the spirochete Borrelia.

2) It has a protective and health-promoting effect on the neurological aspects of Lyme.

3) It has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, particularly on the nervous system.

4) It may alleviate some symptoms of Lyme disease, including pain, headache, confusion, and chronic fatigue.

5) It stimulates the immune system to respond to infections.

6) It protects the heart and cardiovascular system.

7) It modulates autoimmunity.8) It works throughout the body, protecting the body from damage by the spirochetes while simultaneously killing them and acting as a broadly systemic immune booster.
