Active Folate contains Quatrefolic - the most biologically active form of folic acid, 5-MTHF. Quatrefolic is the fourth generation of folate delivery. Errors in metabolism and physiological stress can hinder or prevent the transformation of folic acid into its active form. Unlike inactive folic acid, active 5-MTHF can cross the blood-brain barrier.
Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
The product is also intended for women of reproductive age, and the beneficial effect is obtained with a supplemental daily dose of 400μg of folic acid for at least one month before conception and a maximum of three months after conception.
Purpose: Folic acid contributes to the maintenance of normal mental (psychological) functions. Folic acid contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine. The product is also intended for women of childbearing age, it has a beneficial effect on the development of pregnancy.
