Food for special medical purposes containing sodium butyrate, intended for use in adults and children over 7 years of age – only under medical supervision.
The preparation is recommended for dietary management in the following situations:• irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), including abdominal pain, flatulence and constipation,• acute diarrhea of various origins,• non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease,• diverticular disease,• enteritis following chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy,• conditions following surgical procedures in the gastrointestinal tract,• disorders of the intestinal microflora, including after antibiotic therapy or in the course of SIBO, • nutritional deficiencies, e.g., with a low-fiber or low-fiber diet.
Usage: Adults: orally 1 to 2 capsules a day. Take 2 capsules a day in the morning and evening, with one capsule preferably in the evening. It is recommended to use the preparation for a period of at least 3 months.Children over 7 years of age: orally 1 capsule a day, preferably in the evening. It is recommended to use the preparation for a period of at least 6 weeks.
The capsule should be swallowed whole with water (without chewing). It is best to take the capsules during a meal with ½ glass of lukewarm or cool water. In special cases, e.g. in patients with swallowing disorders, the contents of the capsule may be poured out and consumed with water or after mixing it with food of a thick consistency, e.g. natural yogurt, fruit puree or another product.
