Bionigree GLA capsules are a dietary supplement containing standardized BC634 blackcurrant seed oil, obtained in the process of gentle extraction of organic blackcurrant seeds with liquefied carbon dioxide without access of oxygen. This process allows the product to retain all the bioactive compounds naturally found in blackcurrant seeds. Blackcurrant seed oil (Ribes nigrum L.) is one of the richest sources of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA, an omega-6 fatty acid), which is combined with stearidonic acid (SDA, an omega-3 fatty acid), which is deficient in most foods. This oil is the only known product that provides GLA and SDA. Blackcurrant seed oil also contains other valuable fatty acids, such as linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), and oleic acid (omega-9). The omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are present in the proportions recommended by dietitians.
