To achieve a differentiated glycemic index, glucose and maltodextrins are most often combined. However, Biogenix has taken a significant step forward by developing and patenting Carb Bx, which provides a breakthrough solution. The preparation combines specific pentose carbohydrates (D-ribose), lactones (glucuronolactone), small- and medium-molecular-weight glucose polymers (maltodextrins), and high-molecular-weight polymers (nutriose), enriched with taurine. This allowed for an excellent, stable profile of blood saturation with molecules that constitute the body's primary energy source.
The first, rapid ergogenic effect (workout-inducing), without an increase in blood glucose, is initiated by D-ribose, glucuronolactone, and taurine.
Ribose facilitates the entry of glucose from liver glycogen reserves into skeletal and cardiac muscle cells. At the same time, it provides coenzyme A and adenosine molecules, necessary for heme synthesis and the conversion of glucose's chemical energy into metabolic energy.
Glucuronolactone is a precursor of ribose, so it prolongs and sustains its action. It couples and removes harmful products of exercise-induced hemolysis, which accumulate in the bloodstream and impair oxygen metabolism. At the same time, it increases the blood's oxygen capacity by providing NADPH for glutathione reduction and coenzyme A for heme synthesis. It binds almost all carboxylic acids, which are the primary source of energy during glucose depletion, and transports them into muscle cells, where they are released through enzymatic hydrolysis and used for energy production in mitochondria.
Taurine inhibits red blood cell degradation and facilitates glucose uptake into muscle cells. It also stabilizes calcium ions, which leads to a research-documented increase in aerobic capacity.
The direct source of energy for working muscles is rapidly absorbed glucose, whose effect is sustained by slower-digesting maltodextrins and nutriose. They do not provide such a quick energy boost as glucose, but they ensure long-term glycemia balance, providing excellent energy support for working muscles (e.g. during multi-stage games and multi-competitive competitions).
