Ascorbic acid can be added to creams and face masks, making sure they contain a UV filter, as sunlight causes ascorbic acid to oxidize and lose its beneficial properties. Apply ascorbic acid directly to the skin in a 5%-15% solution based on distilled water. Start by applying the solution to the skin under the eyes, then to the rest of the face, neck, and décolleté in the morning under sunscreen or in the evening, once daily.
Ascorbic acid powder should be stored in a tightly closed container, protected from direct sunlight and moisture. The aqueous acid solution should be stored in a dark glass bottle in the refrigerator.
