Cotton, cotton plant (Gossypium), shrubs or subshrubs from the mallow family. Cultivated as annual plants. They have long-stalked leaves, large flowers that change color after pollination, and a fruit that is a capsule containing short and long hairs.
BingoSpa cotton seed extract is used in cosmetics due to its richness in carbohydrates and proteins. These active substances are responsible for its conditioning and softening properties, thanks to which the raw material is included in the formulation of products primarily for hair care.

Skin conditioning effect
This results from the presence of carbohydrates, proteins, and fatty acids in cotton seeds.
Proteins The polar nature of proteins gives them the ability to bind water molecules through hydrogen bonds. Their molecular weight does not affect this effect. However, when the goal is to penetrate the skin layers and moisturize its deeper layers, short-chain, low-molecular-weight proteins achieve a better effect. Therefore, low-molecular-weight proteins are better moisturizers for the deeper layers of the skin, while higher-molecular-weight proteins – due to their filmogenic effect – are better for achieving surface hydration, firming, and smoothing the skin.
• Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates, under certain conditions, have the property of binding and retaining water. Some carbohydrates remain on the surface of the stratum corneum, providing moisturizing properties and significantly improving the biomechanical properties of the skin. They contribute to increased elasticity of the stratum corneum and strengthen the skin's lipid barrier.
• Fatty Acids
Cotton extract is exceptionally useful due to its high content of essential unsaturated fatty acids (EFAs), particularly oleic and linoleic acids. They have the ability to eliminate free radicals. EFAs are not produced by the human body and therefore must be supplied externally. EFAs have a particularly beneficial effect on the skin and are well absorbed. They have anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties, increase resistance to infections, and stimulate the regeneration of epithelium and connective tissue.
BINGOSPA cotton extract is recommended for cosmetic formulations with moisturizing, conditioning, and hydrating effects on the skin, as well as conditioning and regenerating effects on the hair.
The recommended dosage is 0.5 – 5%.
