Fruit acids, commonly called alpha hydroxy acids, are often referred to by the generally accepted abbreviation AHA, derived from the English name Alpha-Hydroxy Acid. The most popular and most frequently used fruit acids in cosmetics include: glycolic, tartaric, lactic, malic, and citric acids.
AHA acids are commonly used in concentrations ranging from 5% to 10%. Lower concentrations (from 2% to 5%) are found in products for so-called cosmetic exfoliation. This treatment can be safely performed at home.
Many skin problems are related to the excessive buildup of dead skin layers, which cause the skin to become thick and dull. Therefore, the process of reducing them is crucial both in all situations leading to excessive keratinization of the epidermis, as well as in the case of tired, stressed skin in which the aging process has already begun.
Bingospa AHA acids help remove layers accumulated on the skin's surface, providing a peeling effect that stimulates cell renewal. This process initiates the proper reconstruction of deeper cells. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which is particularly desirable in the care of mature skin. As a result of these processes, the condition of dry, dehydrated skin with signs of aging is visibly improved. It retains moisture better, smoothing wrinkles and creases and improving its overall appearance.
Effects of using AHA BINGOSPA acids:The recommended dosage of BINGOSPA AHA acids depends on the desired cosmetic effect. AHA acids can work in two ways, depending on the concentration: • 2-5% acid concentration in the formula: improves the hydration of the stratum corneum by binding water molecules through hydrogen bridges formed between H2O molecules and the hydroxyl groups of AHA acids. The mechanism of action of BINGOSPA AHA acids at a 2-5% concentration involves loosening the bonds of corneocytes (dead cells that make up the stratum corneum), which leads to exfoliation of the outer stratum corneum. In healthy epidermis, we lose one to two layers of corneocytes out of the 15 layers found in the stratum corneum every day. BINGOSPA AHA acids accelerate exfoliation through a mechanism similar to the physiology of the epidermis. They also stimulate fibroblasts within the skin, resulting in an increase in the amount of properly formed collagen. The acid's incorporation into the lipid structures of the epidermal barrier causes water to be retained in the stratum corneum, thus increasing its hydration level. • 5-10% acid concentration in the formula: stimulates cellular regeneration, improves exfoliation, and smooths the skin as a result of AHAs reducing cohesion between corneocytes.
