This soap contains antibacterial essential oils and moisturizing almond oil. A blend of five of them—clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary—as a mixture now widely known as Thieves Oil®, has been tested by, among others, the University of Wales. Even at the lowest concentration of 0.05%, these oils killed Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella bacteria. The mixture of five oils is described in the Old Testament, but it gained fame during the Black Death (plague), which killed 1/3 of Europe's population in the 14th century. It is believed that this oil, or rather vinegar macerates, was used by thieves, robbing the dead, who supposedly used this mixture to protect themselves from infection. To enhance the soap's antiseptic properties, we've added equally effective lavender oil and oregano oil. Almond oil rounds out the formula as a carrier and moisturizer. The soap disinfects perfectly, washing away dirt and microbes. Made according to a traditional recipe from the highest quality natural plant ingredients.
